1. Tuesday Morning Workshops in November

Four Workshops: Tuesdays, November 6, 13, 20 & 27* ($120)

Three Workshops: Tuesdays, November 6, 13 & 27* ($90)
10:15 am to 12:15 pm, except November 27, 10 am to 12 pm.

Polish your work and send it out! Read closely and critically and get inspired to write new work! Read your work like an editor and make your work stronger. Nothing escapes the critical eye! Join us and feel the pulse of new writing!


We will start with a craft discussion based on samples from a handout, offer you prompts, read your poems/pieces and offer focused and helpful critiques. Instructor will provide suggestions and give detailed comments on your work. Prose (fiction, CNF, memoir, other) hybrid forms, experimental work and anything in between welcome.  Writers preparing work for publication or writers just beginning to explore, all are welcome. All writers will benefit from this fast-paced workshop!

2. "How the Ear is a Vessel"


How the Ear is a Vessel; Three-hour Intensive Workshops


Repetition, repetitive patterns and devices in poetry and prose:
A fast-paced workshop where will be write new work inspired by prompts, share (optional), and study the ghazal and its history and variations from a handout which will have a variety of examples. This workshop focuses on teaching participants about this fascinating and complex form and helping them to generate new material and experiment with this form. Though this workshop is designed for experimenting with form in poetry, it offers a close look at how language, sound, and repetition play a vital role in all writing, and how paying close attention to words can energize your writing.  This workshop will be helpful to any writer who is interesting in learning and experimenting with words/patterns.
Maximum number of participants: 10

Focus-Focus": Creative Writing Workshops

Focus-Focus: This a structured and fast-moving workshop for writers who want critical and focused feedback on what works and what doesn't in their poetry, short fiction, novel excerpts, essays, memoir, plays and any hybrid or experimental forms. The Instructor will give a great deal of attention to each writer and provide critiques and guidance. Though this class is designed for writers preparing work for submission, all writers who want to want to experiment with different genres or who are interested in focusing on their work as art will benefit from this workshop.
